Guayaquil Partnership

Our Goal

In the Fall of 2010 Chicago Cru began it’s new partnership with Guayaquil, Ecuador.  It’s our prayer that we’ll be able to send the first STINT team from Chicago to spend a year in Guayaquil reaching the University Students there with Gospel and starting a movement to transform the city.

About Guayaquil

The population of the city of Guayaquil about 3,500,000 inhabitants, and many consider it the economic capital of the country.  In terms of the university population, there are 118,277 students in the principal universities of the city (of which there are 8). The universities are located in different places in the city.  You can learn more about Guayaquil here.

What’s Next

This year we’ll have three opportunities to go to Guayaquil as we lay the groundwork for our partnership and for a movement of students there.

1) January Vision Trip – We’re putting together a trip in early January for staff and students to go to Guayaquil to visit the campuses, get to know the city, meet and talk to students about Christ, and start to lay the groundwork for future trips.  More info will be coming very soon.

2) Spring Break Trip – You an invest your spring break reaching out to students in Guayaquil and decoding the campuses there.

3) Summer Project – You can be a part of the first summer project in Guayaquil.  This will be an opportunity to spend 4 -6 weeks of your summer really learning the culture and what students are like as well as finding and reaching students who could be the leaders of the Movement in the City.
